Have you ever looked at your children and wonder what makes them so mad so easily? Have you ever looked within yourself and wonder what makes YOU so mad? We are in the middle of 5 year old angst and she can go from happy to mad all in about one millisecond and the only thing I can come up with is that she is feeling the REAL BIG feelings. You know, the ones we all take for granted because we are older and don't remember having to go through these phases with our parents when we were little. I wish there was a simple answer for her. We sat down earlier and I just listened to how she was feeling. I think sometimes that what we all need to do. Just listen. I am a "fixer" at heart and I want to take their pain away from them all the time, but I know they will need to learn how to fix their problems themselves. Whether it be with friends, their siblings, or within themselves. I don't ever want them to feel that we don't care though. Gosh, this parenting thing is not for the faint of heart.
Almost done with book #22 of the year and I honestly don't think I can take in enough words. I am obsessed with reading right now. First, I am staying off my phone (Can I get an AMEN!) and second, it helps to ease anxiety, but I'm pretty sure I mentioned that before. If you haven't read a Colleen Hoover novel, what are you waiting for??? They are so good and I haven't found one yet that I find easy to put down. I started "It Starts With Us" yesterday and I will be finishing it today. So, do yourself a favor and hop on over to Amazon or get on your Kindle Unlimited app and get it, TODAY!!
Nap time is looming and I need to give these kids some love before they take their daily siesta. Oh wait, nap time = lunch time for me and there will be coffee soon! Speaking of, what's your favorite Starbucks brew? I am always up to trying new things. Right now I am loving their Salted Caramel Cold Foam. Delicious!
